Abstract

Elastic stockings. - A knitted surgical stocking is provided with side openings 1 in the heel portion so arranged that the whole of the sole forms a continuous uninterrupted surface. The openings may be formed in a reinforcing member 2. The stocking may comprise elastic and non-elastic threads. It may be provided with gussets or insets of rubber fabric or with a slit which may be drawn together by a cord or by other fastenings.
