Abstract

318,028. Abrahams, A. W. Sept. 25, 1928. Pedestal stands; stand heads; rack stands.-A display stand consists of a base 2 with a detachable supporting stem 5 formed of a single length of wire bent upon itself to constitute two upwardly projecting diverging arms, the upper ends of which are bent to form gripping jaws 6 which are tightened upon the article supported by a sliding band 7 on the stem. In the construction shown the stem 5, of circular or other section, is inserted in a hole in a dome-shaped base 2, and retained therein by the resiliency of the wire. The jaws may be flattened. The lower end of the stem may be slightly bowed outwardly to grip the hole in the base 2 and a shoulder may be provided on the stem to limit the extent to which the stem will enter the base. More than one stem may be inserted, in parallel or diverging relationship, in a base.
