Abstract

317,210. Powell, T. B., and Barrow, Hepburn, & Gale, Ltd. July 27, 1928. Hand and like bags.-A hand hat-box or other light-weight bag or case is provided with a rigid skeleton reinforcement composed of upper and lower wire frames 1, 2, united by spacing members 3 secured to the frames by loop connections. The structure may be frictionally or otherwise held in place within.the pasteboard or like wall 4 of the case, and may be, as shown, covered over by the lining 8, a ring 9 being provided above the upper frame. The structure may be combined or associated with skeleton means for stiffening the bottom of the case, and the cover 7 may also be stiffened. The structure may also be formed with extensions in height to give local support to the mouth of the case.
