Abstract

316,042. Gl÷ssl, K. Schaffler-. Sept. 4, 1928. Blasting fuzes. - To prevent ignition by stray currents, the incandescent wire 4 of an electric fuze has a diameter of 0.03 to 0.05 m.m. and a minimum length of 30 m.m., and is wound transversely on the electrode carrier 3 and round the electrodes 1, 2 but insulated therefrom except at the ends where the wire is connected to the electrodes, the windings of the wire being widely spaced apart to prevent them from unduly heating each other. The wire is preferably made of chrome-nickel or the like. Only a portion of the length of the wire may be embedded in the igniting composition.
