Abstract

315,995. Thompson, M. P. July 17, 1928. Sheet-separators, pile supports.- In a bottle &c. labelling-machine the bottom label in a pile is detached by a pair of reciprocating gum boxes. To give stability to the pile, carried by depending hooked arms 108, during the gumming operations, a weight 111 is provided above which is a rod 112 sliding freely through a sleeve 113, and during the gumming operation the rod 112 is held rigid by a pivoted brake shoe 118 operated by an arm 120 engaged by a reciprocating member 147 actuated simultaneously with the reciprocating gum boxes.
