Abstract

315,536. Lithgow, J. June 5, 1928. Band brakes. - In dyeing jigs or like machines in which a band brake 5 is connected to the shaft 2 of a roller through a free-wheel as in Specification 229,824, [Class 15 (i), Dyeing &c., Apparatus for], and is adjusted by a screw 9, means are provided to release and draw the screw 9 so that the brake can be immediately withdrawn and applied within the limit set. A cam 11 pivoted at 12 to the screw 9 and operated by a handle 13 may co-operate with the rattle-preventing spring 10 to withdraw and apply the brake.
