Abstract

314,649. Wineberg, F. J. May 26, 1928. Imitation fires.-A rotary flicker device for imitation fires consists of a. helical or helicalvolute body formed with a series of spaced vanes or deflectors. Fig. 8 shows one form composed of a helically-wound strip carrying spaced blades or vanes 7<d> and a pivot 6 by which it is freely supported over a lamp. Figs. 3 and 4 show a flicker device of volute formation, and Fig. 6 a modification in which the blades 5<a> are cut and bent out of the body of the material. In another form, alternate blades are bent so as to lie above the others. According to the Provisional Specification, a further construction consists of separate blades attached to a helically bent wire, and the flicker devices may be enclosed in wholly or partly translucent plain or coloured material.
