Abstract
312,913. Swendsen, J. W. June 2, 1928, [Convention date]. Armatures and field-magnets; machines with two or more armatures; alternating-current motors.-Relates to induction motors of the type shown in Figs. 1 and 2 or other dynamo-electric machines and consists in forming disc-like cores by coiling and in means for punching holes or slots in the strip for such cores for the reception of the conductors. The holes are so punched in the strips that on coiling they register to form substantially radial slots &c. The stator 1, Fig. 1, is composed of a coil of strip with interposed paper insulation, and conductor coils 9 located in slots in the core. It is secured in the machine frame by members 3. The rotor comprises two coiled cores 5, 6 located between copper rings 14, 15 connected by bars 13 passing through holes in the strip. In a modification, Fig. 2, the stator is of lens form in cross section and the, rotor cores are. of supplementary form. Machines of larger capacity may be made by arranging a series of either of the above rotors on a common shaft with corresponding stators. the rotors between the stators having two sets of connection bars. An induction motor with multiple rotors and stators is described in the Specification. The machines are described in detail in Specification 312,914.
