Abstract

312,866. Pease, E. L., and Premier Radiator & Engineering Co., Ltd. Aug. 13, 1928. Tanks with external radiator elements.-An air cooled radiator for the oil tank of an electrical transformer &c. comprises upper and lower rectangular-shaped headers 1, 2 connected to the tank nnd communicating with each other by tubes 3 disposed in a metal casing 5 having upper and lower openings 6, 7, 8 through which the air is circulated by fans 9, 10 disposed in the openings 7. 8 and mounted upon a shaft driven by an electric motor 12. Baffles 14, 14<a> are provided to distribute the air evenly over the tubes. In a modification, the headers are of annular form and the tubes are arranged around a central casing 16, Fig. 3, the air being drawn upwardly by a fan 12 through the space between the central casing and the headers. In another arrangement, the oil is circulated by a propeller 19, Fig. 5, mounted upon the fan-shaft. Any number of radiators may be arranged around the walls of the tank.
