Abstract

312,447. Bonnet, G. K. April 3, 1928. Brackets.-In a metallic bracket, for supporting a seat, desk. &c., of the kind consisting of two pivotally connected members, a bracket member 3, for attachment to a support 2, and a support member 4 to carry a seat &c. 1, the members are secured together by a third member which, in conjunction with one of the main members to which it is welded, is adapted to form a pivotal stud connection which secures the main members together but permits free pivotal movement of the support member. In the construction shown in Figs. 1, 3 the third member consists of a disc 9 pressed to form a projecting stud portion 8 which is passed through a hole in the support member 4, the dished out base 10 of the stud engaging a depression 7 in the bracket member 3. The base 10 is then welded to the bracket member 3. The members 3, 4 are provided with strengthening marginal flanges 11, 12, a part 13 of the latter flange engaging the flange 11 to limit the pivotal movement of the portion 4. In a modification shown in Fig. 6 the member 3 is formed with a pressed out stud portion 14 which is passed through a hole in the member 4 and is welded to the third member 15. An extension 17 of the member 15 is formed with a marginal flange which serves to enclose the stop 13 on the flange 12. Specification 281,823 is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
