Abstract

309,866. Lang-Verte et Cie, G. A. April 16, 1928, [Convention date]. Multiple superposed coatings; coating materials in long lengths.-In coating fabrics with cellulose varnish, the latter is spread by knives or spreaders having the surfaces in contact with the fabric arranged at an acute angle thereto so that the varnish is progressively compressed. The fabric a passes over a heated table d and is coated with varnish from vessels e', e<2> by means of the spreaders f<1>, f<2>. The latter are mounted on supports f, Figs. 3 and 4, so that their height and inclination can be varied. Another form of spreader, f<3> Fig. 5, has a nose piece g and a heel portion h separated iby a groove i. The lower surfaces j and g' are formed of planes slightly inclined to the surface of the fabric. Specification 298,982 is referred to in the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a). This reference does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
