Abstract

Window-shutters; door shutters.-A folding fireresisting shutter for garages, cupboards, windows, desks and the like, consists of bent metal strips 9 threaded on ropes 11 and so formed as to enclose a space 15 between adjacent strips which is filled with asbestos fibre or like insulating material. The ropes pass over a spring drum 19 and are connected to the shutter by adjustably screwed eye-bolts and nuts 14 at one end and by stops 12 with or without fastenings thereon at the opposite end. The shutter is guided in channels in the insulated walls of the cupboard, leather bearing strips 20, 21 being provided on the shutter and guide respectively.
