Abstract

309,100. Chemische Fabrik Jacobus Ges., and Budowski, I. Dec. 30, 1927. Finishes.-A finish for dressing cleaned used articles of clothing e.g. artificial silk stockings, consists of an aqueous emulsion of a mixture of a fat-like or soap-forming fatty acid, boric acid or crystalline organic acids such as lactic, tartaric, and citric, and an emulsifying agent, e.g. organic sulphonic acids, casein, or saponine. A stabilizing agent may be added. In an example, 50 lb. of tartaric acid and 50 lb. of boric acid are rubbed in a dry atmosphere with 8 lb. of oleic acid, and there are added 2 lb. of isopropyl-naphthol-sulphonic acid and 1 lb. of paraffin oil. The mixture is packed air-tight.
