Abstract
304,233. Magnet-Werk Ges. Eisenach Spezialfabrik f³r Elektromagnet- Apparate. Jan. 17, 1928, [Convention date]. Conical mills; casings or drums having internal revolving cutters or knives.-Wood is disintegrated between a bell-shaped rotor 3 provided with ribs 10 lying substantially in planes passing through the axis of the body and a stator 1 provided with internal ribs 9, the disintegration being carried out in three zones 13, 14 and 15 of varying shape. One or more ribs 16 extend upwardly from the top of the rotor toward the feed inlet and constitute the means for initially breaking the waste wood into sizes suitable for passage through the machine. The wood may be subsequently ground between. a pair of annular rings 28, 31 having co-operating ribs 29, 30 respectively, the parts 31 consisting of renewable sectors; these grinding rings may form a separate machine. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises a modified construction in which a cylinder 1, Fig. 1 (Cancelled) is provided with internal ribs 9 which may be attached to a lining 1, and a rotor 3, provided with ribs 10 revolves inside the casing. The rotor is mounted in bearings 2, 4 and is driven by gear wheels 24, 25 through a shaft 26. The ribs on the rotor may be formed on annular members 10, 10, which are secured to the rotor by a cap 12. The ribs on the member 10 are spaced with a small clearance from the rib 9 but the ribs on the member 10 diverge from the sides and are continued onto the cap 12. A second disintegrating stage comprising a narrow annular ring 27 with teeth 29 may form a. single unit with, and be situated at the bottom of, the rotor and a corresponding segmental ring 30 on the cylinder is in grinding relation therewith. The Specification as open to inspection also comprises the following subject-matter which is the subject of Specification 311,386. The top of the cylinder is provided with a hopper 17, Fig. 1, (Cancelled), in which is a spider 8 for carrying the top bearing and a ledge 18 which forms an abutment for wood scrap such as A. One rib 16 on the rotor is prolonged upwards to form an impact member which breaks the scrap against the spider. The coarse particles of wood fall into the cylinder and are gradually reduced as they pass along until a finely disintegrated product falls from the grinding rings 27, 30 into the discharge opening 6. The final product may then be ground in known manner to form a pulp. The Specification as open to inspection also comprises the follow subject-matter which is the subject of Specification 326,708. The mill may be placed horizontally, Fig. 4 (Cancelled), and is fed through an opening 17a, the final grinding rings 29, 31a being flat or conical and formed with knobs 30a, Fig. 6 (Cancelled). The subjectmatter described with reference to Figs. 1 (Cancelled), 4 (Cancelled), 6 (Cancelled), does not appear in the 'Specification as accepted.
