Glazing.-Relates to the method of pottery decoration in which coloring matter, such as broken glass or coloured glaze, is deposited on the surface of the ware and is made to adhere by glaze firing. According to the invention, the colouring matter, crushed to particles of the required size, is subjected to an initial firing and is subsequently mixed with the raw or fritted glaze, and the mixture is applied to the ware and fired. By first firing the coloured particles they do not dissolve in, and become indistinguishable from, the glaze but remain in suspension.
