Table games. - Apparatus for playing a game comprises a table pivoted at two opposite ends in such a manner as to be rocked laterally by a hand-lever or wheel by a player attempting to cause a ball to enter a cup or hole at the far end of the table, channels or runways being provided to return the balls to the head of the table. The table which slopes downward from the player's end is pivoted at the ends on trunnions 2 so as to be capable of rocking laterally when the player manipulates a hand-wheel or lever 3. The longitudinal inclination of the table may be adjustable. At its low end the table is provided with a row of holes into which the player endeavours to direct the balls by rocking the table. A trough 5 receives the balls that run past the holes, and returns them to the front of the table by means of side shoots 6. Similar shoots return the balls passing through the holes and the balls may be arranged to close the circuits of electric lamps or indicators 8 for the score. The rocking connection between the hand-wheel 3 and the table comprises two forked members, one on the shaft 16 and the other secured to the table and an intermediate pivoted block. In order to retain the balls in the holes until liberated by the attendant, a spring-retracted slide 20, Fig. 7, is arranged beneath the table and is provided with a series of holes 23 normally out of coincidence with the holes 4 in the table. Catches 24 placed in the lamp circuits project into the holes 23 and prevent the balls falling through. When the attendant draws back the slide by means of a rod 26 the holes are brought into coincidence and the catches 24 are withdrawn to allow the balls to pass. The table may be cambered laterally.
