Abstract

301,268. Voshardt, H. F. April 23, 1928. Plates, dishes, and the like, washing.-A receptacle 1, only partly shown, containing means for spraying liquid on dishes carried in a support, is provided with a fixed hood-like portion 3 and a pivotally-mounted closure member 4, adapted to telescope within the portion 3. The member 4 is provided at its inner edge with an annular channel 7 for engagement, when the member is in the closed position, with a flange 11 secured in spaced relation to the inner wall of the portion 3. This arrangement is for the purpose of preventing the escape of water from the receptacle 1, and any water which may have entered the channel 7 when the closure member 4 is in the open position is allowed to drain away on lowering the closure as the channel 7 is openended. The bottom part of the member 4 has a tapering portion 4a and an apron 15 adapted to fit within a trough 18 secured to the main body of the receptacle 1.
