Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts.] Rolling motion, damping.-A current motor for use in wind or water comprises a number of sets of vanes 3 pivoted on spindles 4 and restrained by springs 5 so that they open out to catch the current, but feather when moving against it., In the application to the propulsion of ships, the spring-restrained vanes are pivoted to spindles on a keel plate and are actuated by the relative movement of the water in rough seas.
