Abstract
300,843. Hinton, G. B. Feb. 27, 1928. Porous compositions.-A cellular cement material containing cells of larger size surrounded by cells of smaller size is made by forming a frothy mass of cement containing bubbles of small size, forming a second mass containing bubbles of larger size, and mixing the two masses. The frothy masses are preferably made in apparatus, described in Specifications 298,847 and 300,842, comprising a container for a cement slurry mixed with a frothing flotation agent, an air supply, and oppositely rotating members for breaking up the air into bubbles of substantially uniform size. In an example, the mass containing the small bubbles is made in one apparatus and is then fed to a second apparatus in which a mass containing larger bubbles is being formed, so that the first mass is mixed with the second during the formation of the latter.
