Shuttles.-A shuttle peg of the kind adapted to be collapsed to facilitate the placing of the cop thereon has the leg portion formed of two similar members 1, 2, Figs. 2, 6, and 7, joined together at their tips 3 and adapted to accommodate between them a number of tongues 5, 6, 7, Fig. 5, having oval ends 5<b>, 6<b>, 7<b> adapted to be turned from the position shown in Fig. 6 to that shown in Fig. 7 to expand the legs of the peg to secure the cop, the legs also having finger pieces 9, 9<a>, Fig. 4, for controlling catches 10, 10<a> adapted to engage apertures in plates 12, 12<a> for locking the peg in position when it is turned down into operative position. The tongue 5 is arranged concentrically within the tongue 6 which, in turn, is finely mounted within the tongue 7. The end of the tongue 5 has a part 5<a> the ends of the tongues 6, 7 being secured together and to. a bush 16 to form a cranked part 6<a>, 7<a>, 16<a>. The cranked parts are adapted to engage slots 14, 14<a>, Fig. 3, in the plates 12, 12a so that they are turned relatively through a right angle from the position shown in Fig. 6 to that shown in Fig. 7, when the peg is moved into its operative position.
