Abstract

300,482. Bunn, C. W. May 21, 1928. Steps.-A folding step for vehicles comprises a supporting plate of box-like form carrying a folded step pivoted thereto and adapted to fold into the box when not required for use. The box 1, 2 is adapted to be attached to a vehicle by flanges 3, a suitable recess being formed in the vehicle. The step 6 is pivoted by means of a spindle 8 in the box and the boss 7 of the strip 6 is provided with projections 5, a supplementary projection 18 on the box being provided. The projections 10 are provided with spring-pressed members 13 adapted to enter recesses 14, 15 in the box to position the step in the open and closed positions. Strengthening ribs 16 are provided.
