299,521. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. July 29, 1927. Addition to 275,943. Lakes.-The process of the parent Specification is modified by employing as parent materials mixtures of the amines specified therein with basic dyestuffs, which may or may not contain acid groups. In examples, (1) a deep blue product is obtained by treating a solution containing 4 : 4<1>-tetramethyldiaminobenzhydrol and Victoria pure blue BO with sodium phosphotungstomolybdate, or by first treating the amine with the complex salt, then adding the dyestuff, the product being precipitated in either case by adding soda, (2) a greenish-blue product is obtained by treating a solution containing 4 : 4<1>- tetramethyldiaminobenzhydrol and Light green SF, yellowish, with sodium phosphotungstate, and (3) an olive green product is obtained by treating a solution of p-aminobenzaldehyde and Victoria pure blue BO with sodium phosphotungstomolybdate. The process may be carried out in the presence of the usual substrata and with the addition of dispersing agents, e.g. salts of alkylated naphthalene sulphonic acids, sodium cholate or turkey red oils.
