Film-feeding apparatus; sound-reproducing apparatus associated with kinematographs. - In apparatus for recording sound on, or reproducing from, a film a steady drive past the slit 8 is ensured by leading the film over a roll driven from a spindle 13 which is braked by a magnet 27 acting on a metal disc 28. When used in conjunction with a picture recording or projection apparatus, as shown, the means for driving the film intermittentlythrough the projector and uniformly past the sound reproducer comprise separate drives from a, common motor, preferably three-phase, and the drive to the projector is effected through a vibration absorbing coupling comprising pins 18 engaging a leather disc 17 mounted, preferably on a flywheel 20, on the projector shaft 16.
