Abstract
295,629. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. Aug. 15, 1927, [Convention date]. Addition to 285,087. Toxins, vaccines, and immunizing and like serums.-Substances having properties similar to those of tuberculin, and useful in the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, are obtained by treating preparations of bacillus coli or typhoid bacilli by the process described in the parent Specification with reference to preparations of tubercle bacilli. 'The starting materials may be obtained from the bacilli by extraction with water, or may be precipitated by means of alcohol from a culture medium previously freed from bacilli.
