Planes, arrangement and disposition of; cars and cabins; propelling; steering; stopping way.-A biplane has horizontal upper planes a projecting fore and aft beyond dihedral lower planes b which are apertured at i, a stream-line engine-room or rooms q being mounted in, above, or below the planes, The fuselage w, stream-lined vertically and horizontally, is integal with or connected to a central float u, compartments of which may be detachable; side floats u<1>, u<2> are also provided. The fuselage comprises an engine-room, cabin, and other compartments and has sliding doors x, and a cargo hold is constructed between the fuselage and main float. The wing tips are shaped as shown at g, h and may be movable. Additional engine or fuel nacelles may be provided. Air and water rudders are provided of the type described in Specification 129,149 and may be operated together or independently. Elevators are hinged to the rear edge of the tail planes k and a vertical tail fin n is provided in large machines; the wings may comprise passages and accomodation for men, guns, and bomb carriers and the like.
