295,049. Soc. GÚnÚrale des Compteurs de Voitures (Taximetres), (Assignees of Agosti, B. F.). Aug. 6, 1927, [Convention date]. Factory and like time recorders; card type.- In a machine in which the times of starting and leaving work are stamped in different columns on a card the insertion of the card releases the main lever for operation and a feeling device or searcher co-operating with the card controls the operation of a punch for perforating the card at the starting times and the operation of a clipper mechanism for cutting the edge of the card at finishing times. The card 5 is inserted into the machine and an edge thereof engages an arm 36, Figs. 5 and 6, of a double lever 36, 37 rocking the arms about a pivot 38 and displacing a pivoted lever 41 by means of a pin 39 on the arm 37 engaging a slot 40 in the lever 41 so as to free the nose 44 from engagement with the manipulating lever 1. At the same time movement of the arm 37 from the position 45, Fig. 4, to the position 45a permits a spring controlled arm 32 to move so as to carry a feeling device 31 attached thereto into contact with the card or to allow it to pass through a previously formed perforation. The movement in the first instance is not sufficient to cause the nose 21 of an arm 22 to move out of the path of a cam tooth 20 on a shaft 19 pivotally mounted on the lever 1, so that when the lever is manipulated the shaft 19 is rocked. The shaft 19, Figs. 1 and 3, carries a dog 18 for operating one or other of a pair of levers 11, 17 one of which is loose on the shaft 30 to which the lever 1 is pivoted. The levers 11, 17 have notches 26, 28 and stop faces 29, 27 respectively for co-operation with projections 24, 25 on the dog 18 and so disposed that in the upper position of the dog the lever 11 is operated and in the lower position the lever 17 is operated. Slight adjustment of the levers 11, 17 is permitted by means of cams 159. The lever 11 is forked at its upper end to engage a pin 9 on the end of a cylindrical punch 7 while the lever 17 engages similarly a clipping punch 16. The punch 7 as shown in Fig. 12, is provided with two cutting edges and has a central spring controlled plunger 12 for ejecting the punch clipping. The punches are guided in a support 154 and a slide 155 with an eccentric adjustment (not shown) is provided thereon to regulate the line-spacing. The feeling pin is returned to normal position during the depression of the lever 1 by a pin 51 thereon engaging a ramp 52 on the lever 32. Impression mechanism. - To the shaft 30, carrying the lever 11, is secured an arm 64 to which is pivoted a hooked arm 65 and directly pivoted to the lever 17 is a similarly hooked arm 60 ; these arms engage stops 68, 62 on the impression hammers 69, 63, Fig. 7, to control their operation, the hammers after release being urged by springs 77, Fig. 9, into contact with the card and returned from contact by springs 82 engaging pins 75, 76 on the hammers. Driving type-wheels from clock.-The, clockwork (not shown) is adapted to drive a pinion 100, Fig. 15, on a shaft 89 carrying a duplicate set of minute and hour wheels 83 - - 86 and a single central day wheel 87. The minute wheels 83, 84 are secured to the spindle 89 and the movement thereof is transmitted through gear wheels and transfer pinion shaft 102 to the hour wheels 85, 86. The hour wheel 86 is provided with a notched disc 104 co-operating with a pinion 105 to transmit a movement every twenty-four hours to the day wheel 87. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a two colour ink- - ribbon mechanism. An ink-ribbon 88, Fig. 18, (Cancelled), passes from a spool 109 through the forked ends of arms 125 on a lever 128 to a spool 110. The spools are loose on a shaft 108 adapted to move in one direction or the other longitudinally by a rocking movement imparted to the lever 121 by obstructions on the inkribbon, the pivot of the lever carrying a forked arm 123, Fig. 19, (Cancelled), engaging collars 114 on the shaft. This movement closes one or other of the clutch members 111, 112 the inkribbon being advanced by rotation of the shaft 108 through a ratchet wheel 113 and a weighted pawl 116 pivoted on a member 115 carried by the manipulating lever 1. A spring-controlled pawl 126 co-operating with pins 127 - - 129 maintains the shaft 108 in adjusted position. To present differently coloured portions of its surface to the impression hammers the ink-ribbon is adapted to receive a vertical displacement. To this end a gear wheel 130, Fig. 24, (Cancelled), driven by the clockwork, is carried by an eccentrically mounted shaft 134 so as to enable it to be adjusted relatively to one of the other gear wheels. The shaft 134 carries a disc 135 with fingers 136 the ends of which move in the path of a projection 137 on a pivoted arm 138 to which is attached a rod 140 controlling a ratchet and pawl device in a casing 141. The device drives a shaft carrying a disc 143 provided with a pin 144 which engages a slot 145 in a pivoted arm 146. The arm 146 is displaced alternately to the right and left at instants determined by the stops or fingers 136 and by means of a pin 150 operates a rod 148 and bell crank lever 151 to displace a member 153 supporting the ink-ribbon. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
