Abstract

292,497. Krupp Grusonwerk Akt.- Ges., F. June 20, 1927, [Convention date]. Baling - presses. - A baling-press comprises an upper cross beam 6 carrying three preliminary compression cylinders 8 of which one is shown, a central cross beam 11 containing a preliminary compression chamber 12, and a lower cross beam 13 carrying the finishing cylinders 14. A filling box 5 subdivided into four compartments 1 - - 4 is adapted to move between the beams 6, 11 transversely of the press. Commencing with the parts in the positions shown in Fig. 1, the compartments 2, 4 are filled with cotton &c. and successively brought beneath the preliminary press plate 10, which forces the charges into the chamber 12, the lower finishing plate 16 being held up to withstand the thrust. The plate 16 is now lowered so that the plate 10 can descend beneath a bolt 17, which is pushed in the direction of the arrow to prevent the plate 10 from rising while the final pressure is applied.
