Abstract

291,807. Rey, D. June 10, 1927, [Convention date]. Wearing-apparel, measuring for.-To enable the human body to be measured for the accurate cutting of clothes, the body is mapped out, as shown in Fig. 2, by a series of triangulations from horizontal base lines A - - C &c. Tape measures or the like are passed round the body at the positions of these lines and on each tape measure are a number of slides corresponding to the points a - - d &c. The various points are joined up to form a complete mapping out of the body by triangles, as shown in Fig. 2, which shows the triangulation for the right half of the back only. The lengths between the slides may be obtained by means of thread stretched across from one slide to another or prickers may be used in connection with strips of paper tightly stretched. Various forms of slides are described in the Specification. The tape measures b, Fig. 12, are articulated at n and may be rolled up in their cases s mounted on a graduated rod r. The tape measures may be replaced by graduated rods sliding on the rod r. In Fig. 19 is shown an assembly of rods and slides which is intended for measuring the shoulders, and has squares z sliding in channel pieces for measuring diametrically and tapes and rods o for longitudinal measurement.
