Thermionic generators. - In a high-frequency circuit in which a piezo-electric crystal is adapted to selectively transmit energy, means are provided to neutralize an electrostatic property of the crystal. Fig. 1 shows the application to a transmission circuit 10, 14 in which the capacity of the crystal 12 when quiescent is balanced by a condenser 13 in a bridge circuit including the primary winding 6 and an auxiliary winding 7 of the transformer 5. Fig. 2 shows the application to a thermionic generator 15 in which the transformer secondary 8 is tuned to determine which frequency of crystal vibration is to control the generated oscillations. In a modified thermionic generator (Fig. 3, not shown) a number of crystals are connected in parallel and the balancing condenser is adjusted to balance the resultant capacity.
