Syringes. - Hypodermic needles such as 2 are provided with an annular enlargement 4 at a point spaced from the point of junction of the needle with its holder 3 or, if provided, from the enlarged root 5 of the needle. The enlargement 4 is stated to facilitate withdrawal from the tissues in the event of breakage near the root during use.
