Clamps, screw. - A coupling for securing together a pair of ropes, particularly adapted for use in lifts, hoists, &c., comprises a pair of members a held together by bolts and provided with extensions f, a having a slot f<1> and tongue g<1> whereby they are positioned relatively to one another. The members a may each be of substantially L-shape, or one member may be of U-shape and the other member substantially flat. The projecting ends of the extension f serve to hold the heads of the bolts from rotation.
