Abstract

290,481. Jackson Boilers, Ltd., and Barrow, A. G. Aug. 27, 1927. Heating by electricity.-An urn comprises a vessel 6 for storing the beverage surrounded by a water jacket 8. The water level in the jacket controlled by a ball tap and the jacket is connected for water circulation with an external chamber 13 fitted with an immersion heater 15 projecting into a boiling compartment 17 having an expansion pipe 18 leading into a chamber 20 for collecting boiling water and connected to the vessel 6 by a pipe fitted with a tap 22. The vessel 6 is of earthenware and fitted with a bag or strainer 12 for the coffee or tea, a gauge glass, and a draw off tap. The immersion heater is fitted with independently controlled heating elements. The external chamber 13 may be coupled to a number of urns.
