Abstract

Cooling beer etc.; refrigerators, domestic. - Apparatus for cooling beer or other liquids, applicable as a cooled chamber for storing food, comprises an outer heat-insulated casing 11 around a double-walled ice-chamber 13, 14 and an inner chamber 15 for the liquid &c. to be cooled separated from the icechamber by a space containing brine, water, air or other fluid. The storage chamber may have walls of glass or of zinc, and the other walls may be of zinc or other non-corrosive material. The cover of the liquid chamber may have a glazed inspection opening 25 and the outer casing has a lid 17 held down against packing 18 by bolts or spring levers. The ice and brine chambers have valved draw-oft pipes 23, 24 and the beer &c. may be admitted near the top through a pipe 21 and be drawn off by a pipe 22 at the bottom.
