Abstract
288,026. Beresford & Son, Ltd., J., and Spital, C. April 5, 1927. Fixing furniture to floors.-A device for securing table legs and the like to floors consists of two members, one consisting of two parts 2, 3 attached to a leg and the other, a part 10, to the floor, with interlocking parts arranged so as to facilitate the removal of dirt, &c. The part 2 is a ferrule attachable to a table leg, and the part 3 is mounted on it by means of a screw 4 and a coiled spring 5. The part 3 may be rotated on the part 2 until projecting parts of the head 9 are aligned so as to pass into an open-ended channel 11 in the part 10, when the spring 5 rotates the part 3 until the head 9 assumes the position shown across the channel. The movements of the part 3 are limited by stops 7 on it and on the part 2. In a modification, the part 8, 9 is replaced by a circumferential extension 19, Fig. 7 with two inward projections 20 engaging with an interrupted flange 22 on a floor piece 21, which stands above the floor level.
