287,112. Simon, G. E. March 15, 1927, [Convention date]. Staples, wire and like. -The spikes of a staple are arranged at an angle of less than 90‹ and more than 45‹ with the link portion, the points and inner ends of the spikes lying on a circle having its centre at the centre of the link. The link may have a fluted or curved under-surface whilst the spikes are similarly fluted. The staple, of half-round section has spikes b, Fig. 5, not quite at right angles with the link a. When the section of the staple, Fig. 9, is of crescent form f the edges e<1> of the groove e bite into the planks x, x<1>, Fig. 1Q, so as to be flush with the surface.
