Abstract

284,939. Hohoff, H. July 19, 1927. Drawing wire.-The dies of a rotating-die wiredrawing machine are cleaned by causing the wire being drawn to enter the die at an angle to the die axis. The die-holders a carrying driving pinions d are provided with eccentric longitudinal holes through which the wire is led from the die c, over a pulley f carried by the die-holder, to the drum i, the rotation of the die-holder thus causing the wire to reciprocate across the drum. The wire is led to the die over a pulley adjustably mounted in a bracket g and an adjustable nozzle k is provided for discharging lubricant into the die orifice.
