Electric killi?ig-appliaiLce8.--kpparatus for killing rats, mice, and other vermin comprises an insulating base 3 carrying conductors 1, 2 arranged in squares, circles, or like closed figures and connected alternately to terminals 4, 5 respectively. The base 3 may include a receptacle 17 for bait which may be supported thereon by prongs, springs or the like. The terminals 4, 5 are connected to an induction coil, to the electric light or like mains or transformer in circuit therewith or to a high or low tension battery. Switches, an ammeter, a condenser, a fuse, an incandescent lamp or an automatic time-switch may some or all be included in the circuit and such appliances together with batteries if used may be enclosed in a box having terminals for direct connection with the terminals 4, 5. The ground around the base 3 may be sprinkled with salt or salammoniac or covered with metal to provide an earth connection through the rat or other vermin from any of the conductors 1, 2. The base 3 may be constructed of fire resisting material such as asbestos or the appliance may take the form of a system of conductors mounted upon flexible or like material such as rubber whereby the apparatus may be folded or rolled up when not required for use. The Provisional Specification refers to the conductors as arranged in parallel formation or as a network covering a relatively large area and stiffened with wooden frames or battens.
