Press-button fasteners.-In fasteners having a spherical stud member b secured to the material A by a plate a having a hollow stem or rivet member b' passed through the material and forced into the spherical member b so as to be deformed to fill it as in Fig. 1, the upstanding stem b' is of the open top form shown in Fig. 3, the upper part being expanded to provide a tapering wall with a sharp edge e which can be driven through the material, the upsetting member b' being also facilitated whereby a more complete filling of the spherical member is obtained.
