Abstract

282,257. Ora, S. P. April 4, 1927. Ornamental metal work is produced by preparing recesses 2 of desired configuration in a metal sheet 1 and causing contrasting metal to fill the recesses while in a molten condition. The contrasting metal e.g. gold alloy, of lower melting point than the sheet 1 of silver &c. is applied to the recesses in granular form and the whole then heated till the alloy is molten. The surface of the inlaid metal may be engraved. A silver cigarette case may be so ornamented with monograms, representations of guns, &c.
