Abstract
281,951. Schloemann Akt.-Ges. March 21, 1927, [Convention date]. Rolling-mandrels.-In a pilger-rolling mill for tubes, the mandrel b may be removed from its holder by means of a hydraulically-operated support c which transfers the mandrel to a pivoted frame d down which it rolls to a position b<2> where it is cooled below the critical temperature. The support e of the pivoted frame is then lowered, and the mandrel is thus transferred to a water tank f through which it is moved by a motordriven wheel g and finally passes to a position b<5> on an uppper table i. As soon as a hot mandrel has been removed, the support c is raised to receive from the table i one of the cold mandrels which is thereupon secured in the holder.
