Abstract

Centrifugal machines; moulds. - Relates to the production of concrete &c. pipes &c. centrifugally, and consists in providing within a rigid mould one or more liners each in the form of a sheet of springy metal having its edges unfastened and constrained to shape by the inner surface of the mould. As shown, a liner L, formed of thin steel, is embraced by a two-part mould M, the joint P of the liner being displaced relatively to the mould joints Q. The liner may be placed in the lower mould section before closing the mould, or may be inserted into the closed mould. Several liners arranged one within another may be employed, and the liners may be in sections end to end. The edges of the liners may abut or overlap. Before insertion, the liners are coated with or dipped into oil, wax, grease &c. and may be withdrawn from the mould prior to its separation from the article. The liners may be formed with slight indentations or furnished with letters &c. to impress a trade mark &c. on the article. Specifications 12928/15, 256,753, and 268,101 are referred to.
