Abstract

281,534. Barnes, E. L. April 25, 1927. Refrigerating, compression machines for.-A receiver 11 for liquefied refrigerant is disposed in a part 5 of the evaporator so that moisture in the refrigerant is frozen and deposited in the receiver and does not reach the float-operated regulating valve 15. The part 5 is accommodated in an insulated ice-making chamber adapted to be inserted in a domestic refrigerator and communicates through a pipe 40 with the compressor. The condenser is connected through a pipe 8 with a liquid refrigerant reservoir 9 which communicates through a pipe 10 with the vessel 11. The part 5 communicates through tubes 22 with headers 20, 21 having depending tubes 26, 27 closed at their lower ends. In a modification, the lower ends of the tubes of each header are connected.
