Abstract
281,085. Cruise, C., (trading as Cruise & Son, E.). Nov. 17, 1926. Baking and like tins or pans.-To prevent undue contact between baking tins when arranged in an oven, projections or spacing members extending beyond the upper edge of the tin are provided on the side or ends or on both. The projections may take the form of tubular members 1 Figs. 1 and 5, formed with flattened ends 2 held in place by the cover flaps 3 which may be formed with protuberances 5 to prevent jamming during nesting as described in Specification 173,110. These tubular members are of preferably doubled sheet metal and of D- section, as shown in Fig. 3, the ends when flattened comprising four thicknesses as shown in Fig. 1. The tubular members may, however, comprise a roll of sheet metal secured as above, or riveted to the tin. The projection may comprise alternatively a strip with an outwardlycranked centre 1<b> as shown in Fig. 10, or a similarly cranked wire of rounded or other section 1<c> as shown in Fig. 12. A wire frame surrounding the four walls of the tin and suitably bent to provide spacing members may also be employed, or the beading wire may be bent outwardly to serve the purpose.
