Abstract

Hand and like bags. -A hand, vanity, or like bag is provided with an open-ended sleeve-like portion, of the same length and depth as the bag, adapted to be slipped over the user's arm. In the bag shown in Fig. 1, the sleeve-portion is provided between an outer flap 5, connected to the bag by a fold 6, and the adjacent-side of the bag, to which the corners of the flap are secured at 7. The sleeve is suitably lined, and may be fitted with an elastic band 8 adapted to grip the wrist of the user. The ends of the sleeve may have shirring strings or the like to enable it to be tightened on the arm. According to the Provisional Specification, the construction may take the form of a sleeve or one or more loops of flexible material depending between pocket-portions connected together near the mouths to form a bag. The shirring strings may then serve alternatively as handles for carrying the bag in the normal manner and the sleeve may be used as an additional pocket. In a further construction the sleeve is afforded in the space between the pockets by a strip of flexible material being connected to the lower edges of the pocket portions. Further constructions proposed are armlets or loops of flexible material attached to one or both sides of a bag.
