Abstract

277,126. Caley, E. C., and Downs, C. June 16, 1926. Moulding walls in situ.-Apparatus for constructing a wall or for roughcasting a constructed wall comprises a container 16 for concrete etc.; movable on telescopic or hinged uprights 2, 3 which are carried by a carriage movable on rails parallel to the wall. The uprights are raised by winches 12 operated by screw or worm gearing 11 and the container is provided with a movable plate 37 which is carried by roller carriages 38 disposed in upper recesses in the container walls. The movement of the plate during the raising of the container on the uprights is caused by a brake-lever 49, the plate being counterbalanced by a weight 46 and ropes 41. The front plate 30 of the container is adjustable vertically to vary the gap 31 through which the plastic mass is forced. Disposed at the front end of the container are a rotary agitator 36, an oscillating feeder 27, and a rotary projector 25 with projector blades on its periphery. These parts are all automatically operated from a motor 51 through an endless belt 56 which also passes around a pulley on a shaft 52 driven from the motor, another pulley on this shaft actuating the lifting drum shaft 76 through an endless belt 69.
