Abstract

276,966. Philip, G. R. Sept. 1, 1926. [Convention date]. Stonework, ornamental.-A design is formed in relief on stone by means of sand-blast, the stone being coated with a resist 1, to which the design 2 is applied and from which portions are removed, the exposed stone then being cut at 3 by the sand blast. The cut parts are then filled with the resist 4, and in order to give a sharp edge to the raised portion, a narrow outline is cut in the resist around the design, the outline being removed and the exposed stone cut by the sandblast, as at 5. The parts of the resist covering the background of the design are then removed, and the stone cut to the line 6, thus leaving raised parts in sharp relief.
