Abstract
276,327. Ford Motor Co., (Assignees of Ford, H.). Aug. 18, 1926, [Convention date]. Bodies. - A combined cowl and fuel tank construction for motor vehicles is constructed so as to comprise a minimum number of parts, to eliminate a large part of the bracing normally employed and to obviate the possibility of leakage into the engine compartment or body. The fuel tank comprises the top part 10, Fig. 2, of the cowl and a lower member 13 of arcuate form secured to the top member 10 and provided with a part 15 which also forms part of the dash. The sides 17, 18, Fig. 3, of the cowl are secured to the members 10 and 13 and a member 19 forming the remainder of the dash and serving also as a toe-board 23, Fig. 2.
