273,565. Thompson, J. S. Nov. 29, 1926. Blocks and shoes. - A brake block has recesses 14 in its ends for receiving means by which it is secured to a support. A metal back 7 is secured to the back of the block and has upturned sides 8 and ends 9. The metal back may have perforations into which the material of the block is forced during moulding to secure the two parts together. The ends 9 of the metal back are cut and pressed down at 15 in the recesses. The metal back mav be made of wire mesh or expanded metal.
