Electrodes.-Apparatus for filling tubular electrodes of storage batteries with active material consists of a rotating disc b carrying two-part moulds e in which the electrodes are placed with their open ends facing the centre of the disc. Channels d lead from the moulds to a funnel c into which the active material is poured when the disc is rotating sufficiently rapidly to cause the active material to move under centrifugal action along the channels d into the moulds. The metal may be poured into the funnel c when the disc is stationary, in which case slides are provided to prevent the material from moving along the channels until the disc has acquired a predetermined speed.
