Abstract

270,717. Cumbo, E. May 4, 1926, [Convention date]. Driving arrangements for screw propellers.-The propeller and part of the engine are mounted below the centre of the vessel, and can be raised into a compartment in the vessel when not in use. An open chamber 3, above the opening 2 in the bottom 1 of the vessel, carries shafts 10 having pinions 7 which engage racks 6 on the engine. The lower part 13 of the engine supports the propeller 18. The engine may be of any type.
